Vizual Records is proud to present a brand new EP from Jevon Jackson — a stalwart in the Chicago scene and his first release on Vizual. Jevon's dj sets are revered by heads and fans alike and his unique approach to music can be felt and heard on this breakout release.
'Making Rachel Dance' starts off the EP with deep yet shuffling beats layered with attenuated piano stabs and ethereal vocals. It plunges the depths but would be right at home on later dancefloors.
'Shift' amps things up a bit with syncopated, driving beats over droning disco loops reminiscent of Mfon yet taking things into new sonic territories.
'A Fucking Mess' is a midtempo journey with ingeniously looped vocals and samples to create a heady dub-drenched mind state.
'InCorporReal' is a soul-soaked dubby disco workout putting the bass and harmonics front and center. A lovely track to get really lost in.
Finally, Joshua Iz adds his treatment to 'Making Rachel Dance' with some heavy dub effects over syncopated jacky beats and stripped down vocals from the original.
